You haven’t failed until you quit.

Weight loss has ups and downs. Admittedly, I’ve been on an ‘up’ for a while now - since about mid november. But the good news is, I’m not back where I started - not at all. I’m at about 71.6kgs, still more than 10kgs less than my starting weight, even if it is nearly 4kgs higher than my lowest weight.

I know I’ve ‘ re-started’ several times in the last few months, and none of them have worked. special events, stress and illness have gotten in the way.

BUT as the title of this post says, you haven’t failed until you quit, and I haven’t quit yet - not even close! So I haven’t failed. My weight loss journey is continueing, and this little setback is just part of the learning curve.

So, I am starting again. I did a few things to get myself off to a good start yesterday -I did a very strict meal plan with quite low calories. This is only a kickstart for this week, and if I go a bit over each day I won’t beat myself up about it. And I made a little wallet card with my favourite motivational sayings on it to pull out and read as needed. I even laminated it!

I also re-instated the 100 day challengeĀ  - I failed last time but I am determined this time! The rules are a bit easier this time, no chips, chocolate, fast food, lollies or binging. I haven’t made any rules about alcohol or social nibblies. I have made upĀ a calendar on my printer and stuck it inside my pantry, and I will put a star on each day that I follow the rules. Can’t wait to see 100 stars all in a row!

This morning I am on track with my eating and I have been for a run - even though it was REALLY hot!! after the setbacks with my knee I am back on week four of the C25k program, so I will do that three times a week and try to do 2 weights workouts a week, as well as riding my bike to work when I can.

Onwards and downwards!
