There’s green jelly lollies in the lolly jar today and I WANT one! I want it really bad. But that would break the 100 day challenge and so I will not. Dammit.

Australia day success!
January 27th, 2010 — Uncategorized
OK, so I didn’t exactly deny myself all bad things. BUT, considering the challenge, I think I did pretty well, and the 100 day challenge is still intact.
Yesterday was Australia Day, a public holiday and a day which traditionally involves bad food and alcohol. K invited me to spend the day with his friends, there was a barbeque in the park followed by a night at a bar on the river where we could watch the fireworks. (I LOVE fireworks
)
I drank 4 Vodka cruisers during the bbq part of the day, and 4 vodkas with diet coke atthe bar plus one pimms cocktail. That’s quite a bit of alcohol, and most of my calories for the day.
For lunch I had one suasage in a bun and two chicken kebabs. Not too bad really. I didn’t eat any of the chips which were repeatedly offered, hence the 100 day challenge is still intact. Yay for me, cause it wasn’t easy!!
I walked home from the train station at the end of the nght, it took 45 minutes, which takes 181 cals off my total according to CalorieKing. I had 2-minute noodles when I got home, which is not ideal, but is heaps better than stopping at the servo for a sausage roll or hot chips!!
So all in all, considering the temptations, I think I did pretty well, yes, I drank too much, and I am now suffering through a day at work because of it, butI think that was only to be expected.
The damage? If you include exercise, I was 741 calories over my budget of 1400 for the day. I can live with that, but I will be doing some extra exercise this weekend to make up for it.
100 days - day 8

Last night K decided that he just HAD to have Red Rooster - my favourite fast food. K doesn’t have the address of this blog and has never read it, so he knows nothing about my 100 day challenge.
I just went with him and ducked next door to get a subway while he ordered his Fast food. It was easy! I just reminded myself that what I eat is no-one’s choice but mine, and that I would have to start the challenge again.
Also, it was easy because I wasn’t hungry. i had a good snack before I left for his place. If I had been starving, it might have been a very different story. I must remember to start taking fruit to K’s house and eating proper;ly before I go there.

The weight loss fairy came this week. She must have been tired though, she only took away 0.6kgs.
That brings me to 71.0kgs. I’m Ok with that, even though I ate quite well this week, I didn’t exercise much due to the heat. I’m just at an age where good diet or exercise alone is not enough, I need both to pull really good numbers on the scale.
Today I entered all my weights since August 08 onto a new graph, which you can check out in my statistics. it was interesting to see the patterns, I definitely lose more weight on weeks where I plan!
100 days, Day 4

Still on track and going strong. A bit dissapointed that my pants still feel tight this mornig - but I was probably expecting a bit much too fast. Had some popcorn last night but I think that’s OK once in a while.
I should mention that my 100 day challenge this time has slightly different rules. Whereas last time I said no social nibblies and only 3 drinks on any social occasion, this time I only have 2 rules
1. No Chips, chocolate, lollies, pastries or fast food: and
2. No Binging.
Rule number one cuts out my biggest trigger foods, and rule number two is intendedto prevent going over board on any other foods, like toast, bikkies and cheese.
Hopefully, I will stop and think when I am eating whether having another serve would qualify as binging. I know its a bit vague, but I think I can manage it.

Looking good - yesterday was fine and I have exercised and am right on track today.
You haven’t failed until you quit.

Weight loss has ups and downs. Admittedly, I’ve been on an ‘up’ for a while now - since about mid november. But the good news is, I’m not back where I started - not at all. I’m at about 71.6kgs, still more than 10kgs less than my starting weight, even if it is nearly 4kgs higher than my lowest weight.
I know I’ve ‘ re-started’ several times in the last few months, and none of them have worked. special events, stress and illness have gotten in the way.
BUT as the title of this post says, you haven’t failed until you quit, and I haven’t quit yet - not even close! So I haven’t failed. My weight loss journey is continueing, and this little setback is just part of the learning curve.
So, I am starting again. I did a few things to get myself off to a good start yesterday -I did a very strict meal plan with quite low calories. This is only a kickstart for this week, and if I go a bit over each day I won’t beat myself up about it. And I made a little wallet card with my favourite motivational sayings on it to pull out and read as needed. I even laminated it!
I also re-instated the 100 day challengeĀ - I failed last time but I am determined this time! The rules are a bit easier this time, no chips, chocolate, fast food, lollies or binging. I haven’t made any rules about alcohol or social nibblies. I have made upĀ a calendar on my printer and stuck it inside my pantry, and I will put a star on each day that I follow the rules. Can’t wait to see 100 stars all in a row!
This morning I am on track with my eating and I have been for a run - even though it was REALLY hot!! after the setbacks with my knee I am back on week four of the C25k program, so I will do that three times a week and try to do 2 weights workouts a week, as well as riding my bike to work when I can.
Onwards and downwards!
I’ve been sick

After starting the New year with such high expectations I proceeded to get really ill with a nasty flu, and have just barely managed to maintain my weight for the past two week. In order to meet my goal for january I will now need to lose 2kgs in the next two week. Doable - but not easy!!
My plan is to lose 2kgs a month for three months. After that I will re-evaluate. I’m very determined that January will not be a total loss and since I am feeling so much better today I will start right ow instead of waiting till Sunday or Monday to get going.
