My Compartment Syndrome Page

A while back I created a page about recovering from Compartment syndrome. My Google Analytics page (which I’m a little obsessive about checking) tells me that this page is quite popular, and I’m getting a fair bit of traffic from Google searches with Compartment Syndrome keywords.

Thing is, not a lot of these people are hanging around to actually read the page, which is weird. In fact it has a really high bounce rate. I think the infor there could be useful to people, so i wonder what I should do to entice people to get through the article. More headings? less intro? pictures?

Anyone got any ideas?

I think your page about Compartment Syndrome is good. I’m in the process of being diagnosed with compartment syndrome and have seen some nasty pics on line, and read some write ups, I’m a bit nervous as to whether surgery will work or not, and i’ve been told that my scars would be pretty bad by my doc, because of the positioning of the muscle that he says is effected. So i’m reading up on all i can (despite what everyone says) to see how different individuals reacted to the surgery.

The only thing I did look for on your site was a pic of the scars, as some of the scars i’ve seen have been nasty, but obviously that’s a personal choice for you.
You said that you think you think you’d had the condition all your life, and i know i’ve felt the effects for at least 10 years. Do you think that it gave you any other musculoskeletal issues (knee, back, hamstring?) because I trained everyday for years, and had to stop, now i’m getting MRI scans to make sure there are no other issues as well as the CS… anyway i’m not going to babble on too much!

Well thanks for the page.. I found it helpfull and it’s nice to read a not so scary recovery diary!!

Hi there, thanks for your comment.

I will probably add some photos of my scars at some point, when I get around to shaving my legs :P My scars are really not bad, they are thin straight lines about 4cm long.

As for other issues related to my CS, I suspect that my knees have suffered and are a bit out of line due to the tight muscles on my outer shin. But of course the biggest impact was on my weight from my aversion to exercise.

I’m glad you found the page helpful, the surgery has certainly helped me! But I think in your case you should consult a few sports doctors and surgeons to figure out what the best treatment is for you.

Good luck!
